Karuna Dasi

Mridanga, Harmonium, Kartal & Vocal Instructor

 Born into a Vaishnava family, Karuna Dasi grew up in Boston where she attended the local temple and learned to play the traditional instruments of Mridanga, Kartal and Harmonium. She also studied Odissi under the tutelage of a teacher there and decided to take her passion of Kirtan and music to the next level by enrolling in the Berklee College of Music. She graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a degree specialized in guitar and other stringed instruments. She is also proficient in Mridanga, Harmonium, Kartals, Piano and Singing. She is currently exploring Hindustani music under the guidance of Prahlad Das, and she is delving deeper into Mridanga playing also under his guidance.
